Dr. Kim Polistina

Ph.D (GU); Ph.D (CQU); FHEA (TAE) (UK)

Kim has over 30 years of experience working and living change for sustainability.  Her work primarily focuses on cultural and social behaviour change. She also aims for the development of an equitable and just global citizenry.   She completed her first Doctor of Philosophy at Griffith University. She examined local community processes for sharing pro-environmental knowledge in both non-Indigenous and Indigenous communities.  She completed a second Doctor of Philosophy at CQUniversity. She studied human behaviours that hinder social change towards sustainability. She also examined the benefits of community sustainability frameworks for combating these behavioural barriers.

In her educator/trainer capacity she has taught groups and individuals from all sectors of society and walks of life.  This work has spanned local community group courses through to international social regeneration projects. In this capacity, her skills in the development of course content and assessment earned her the award of Fellow of Teaching and Assessment with the Higher Education Academy in Britain.    

Her research expertise has focused on the social and cultural elements of sustainability. She is an accomplished academic author, presenter, and facilitator. Dr. Polistina is passionate about protecting our natural world, along with the human and non-human species that live on it, and she strives to incorporate sustainability into all aspects of her work and personal life.
